Vintage 1952 6cent Semi Restored Model 27A Coca-Cola VMC Vending Machine
This vintage VMC 27A model Coca-Cola vending machine was manufactured sometime in 1952. The two piece coin door is aluminum but painted silver. The coin door does open with the working keys and to the right is a knob that opens up the machine so it can be filled with soda. This machine was a 5 cent machine, but was modified to take 6 cents. In the left corner it says 6 cents insert one penny first, then the nickle.

Underneath the coin door it says "In Bottles" in white letters. This model was supposed to be a stand alone version of their popular model 27, and the 27A proved the success of stand alone machines for VMC. The set price for Coca-Cola products was 5 cent until the late 1950's, but due to inflation in the 1940's, many stores charged 6 cents for a 5 cent coke. The first Coca-Cola machine was invented by the Glascock Brothers Manufacturing Co.

In Muncie, Indiana in 1929. The last year of production of this model was 1952 and that is when they moved the "VMC" logo to the lower center of the door.

This would make a great addition to anyone's Coca-Cola collection, or for someones personal use. This machine measures 52 1/2" high, 25 1/2 wide, 19" deep, and weighs 150 lbs. This machine is in working condition. This piece is in good to excellent condition, but does show signs of wear from age and use.
