Frito-Lay (PepsiCo) various "crunch" cans that were made for soft drink vending machines. Starting in 1996 PepsiCo had a vision for bright days ahead that included machines that could sell both beverages and prepackaged snacks all in one place. Frito-Lay put its products inside the same soda cans usually filled with actual soda-although with a modified top that lifted right off in order to sell them from soda machines alongside their liquid comrade.

This concept started in various test markets around the United States, and if sales met expectations, PepsiCo announced that a nationwide roll-out was coming soon. The concept was successful, but at the time Frito-Lay had saturated the market with too many new products, therefore the idea was shelved. Initially the can did not have the weight versus the weight of soft drinks, to work in the vending machines. This problem was solved, but sadly the crunch cans did not reach the mass.

The cans contains the following products: Nacho Flavored Doritos, Fritos, Rold Gold Tiny Twist Pretzels, Cheetos. NOTE: Expired in 1997, do not consume.

These are great rare collectibles. Hallmarks: As Seen In Pictures.
