Vintage 1950's era Vendo Coca-Cola Coke Glass Bottle Vending Machine

Up for consideration is a very nice vintage 1950's era Vendo/VMC Coca-Cola Coke glass bottle vending machine in working condition. Hine has Model # H81D was manufactured during May of 1957 (date code: 05) and has serial # 26396 comes with two (2) keys. Dimensions of Vendo 81 Coke Machine: 58 Tall, 27 Wide and 16 Deep (cabinet only). The unit powers on, the compressor kicks on, the coin mechanism works, and all parts appear to be present. However, beyond what we state here, we cannot guarantee that it is fully functioning.

This unit was manufactured The exterior of the machine has some flaws or defects in the original paint but not more than expected of a machine of its age (please see photos). Additionally the black door gasket is a bit sticky. This machine could definitely use a cleaning, and probably some minor restoration work in order for it to shine like new. With the new merger in place, Vendo instantly began to use the new coin mechanism (and oversized coin door) on many Coke machine models, including the Vendo 81. The Vendo H81 was now the H81D Coca Cola machine.

One other slight change Vendo took from the VMC merger, was the VMC H series machines all featured Antique White painted bottle mechanisms (which presented a fresher look through the glass bottle door). From 1957 through the rest of its production, the Vendo H81D would now have an Antique White painted bottle mechanism face. Vendo manufactured this version of the V-81 Coke machine, through 1958 (the last of the round top versions). This larger coin door version of the Vendo 81 Coca Cola machine, is in the most demand of the three versions.

Vendo continued to use the plastic Have a Coke bottle door medallion painted White with Gold lettering, from the previous year. Also (around August of 1958), Vendo added a small Coke Red arrow decal to the front of the bottle mechanism for the top few bottle selections.
